Paging Dr Finn

Finn got a hold of some online medical qualifications the other day and started his own practice....

A brand new globe....

They call lightbulbs globes over here for some reason. Last year the trusty projector started to give warning signs of its globe coming to the end of its functionality, so i went and bought one online for a bargain of $800!!! The warning lasted for almost an entire year until last weekend where it finally shuffled off its mortal coil and joined the choir invisible.

Here it is, still in one piece after a year sitting in the drawer

Five mins later and here we have it all reset and resealed. The quality is much improved and we have another 2000 hours of cinemascope entertainment anead of us.

Off to the swan valley

We went to Lancaster on saturday , folks here for the wedding will remember it as the tin shed in the middle of the valley. Twas a tad colder last weekend though

Happy birthday Mick

We had a little party last friday. On account of Mick looking after me whilst i had the ol swine flu, Liam presented him with his first medical kit.

In other news, Jane is back from the USA today, I got the attic insulated and I dropped my viola into a new Luthier in town for a bow rehair, get those new pegs fitted and a general 10,000 quaver checkup. Went to see the film District 9 last night too, well worth a look.

AQUA Ahoy

We went off to Aqua today to see if Mick could find Nemo, here he is right inside the front door.

And no trip to AQUA is complete without the obligatory crocodile wrestle....

So this is what I have been on for the week, and they did their job, I am over the worst of it now. I managed to lose 9 kilos over the week and am looking forward to putting it all back on again as my appetite returns.

Anyone got any oinkment?

Yup, I have the swine flu. I picked it up last week in school, I had to crawl home on thursday afternoon, Friday was like I was a crash test dummy for big-rig trucks, constant pain, incredible headaches and zero energy. I havent eaten since wednesday, yesterday was the first day I was able to keep water down, Im gonna try to have some cereal this morning and try to get into a routine. I wouldnt recommend this swineflu to anybody, it really is the most painfull thing!

Gig of the year

We played at a batmitzvah last night in the Mt Lawley golf club. It was the best gig ever! We played for 4 hours, all Reinhardt and Grapelli stuff, but the favourite of the night was Have Nagilia, which we played about 20 times consecutively, faster and faster each time, they couldn't get enough!

Free Spuds....

For those that have frequented the strand, you will recognise this trio of transposed taters as the inhabitants of the dunnie for the last few years. They have been around for a while and, well, it was time for them to go, soooo in keeping with the traditions of Perthian recycling I left them on the kerb for a lucky passerby to pick up.

Here are the lads outside the house, they were gone within an hour, and we are not even on a main road!

I just noticed, in this photo, it looks like the heavens are opening for spiderspud.

Tales from the Pit

So here we are,in the pits again for another week. For this show, the sconces provided were a bit awkward so I brought my own, and check out the professionalism of this next bit....

I even brought a spare lightbulb!!! Thats next level viola profesionalism right there!

Jane is in the band also, and for those of you who were at the wedding, the trumpet player Ben is the same guy that played all the dixie at the rowing club.
