We had another one of our themed fancy dress trivial pursuit nights last night, it was french this month, here is Oliver as a petit garcon...

Getting there slowley but surely

Check it out, its the loo and its got tiles! We got the entire back of the house tiled by Bob the builder, he did a fantastic job, for those familiar with the gaff, the old computer room is now the new dining room!

Yup its showtime again, and this year its Oliver. I played the part of Fagin in my old schools production of this waaaaaay back in the 80's and loved it. Cant wait to get stuck in, rehearsals commence tomorrow. No viola solo's.....yet

Wipplestix gets a new look

Remember the wipplestix? Well, the last few times I took it to gigs I got heaps of wierd looks, as it kinda looks like a bazooka, and the top where I padded it out with sponge doesnt help make it look less like some sort of weapon.

So i decided to do it up with black duct-tape, and even made a handel (which also stops it rolling off tables). And on another note, this blog entry I did entirely from my phone running on SOLAR POWER! Yup, that black box with the wire is my new portable solar charger.

You just unfold it, leave it in the back garden all day then charge up anything you like with it. My phone, watch and bluetooth headpiece are now all running "off the grid". Its a small start but its a good one. It will also charge up cameras, portable DVD players and some notebook PC's.

The drought is over

Finally we are back in action. It took a while to get back into a regular routine but finally managed to get my brewing back in order, so on tap at the moment is a fruity australian lager, a nice full bodied stout and in the portables is another fruity lager. Huzzah!

I did some recording the other week for Bill, he is puting a show together and then needed some fiddlin, on the track. Great fun.

Lemons

As we were walking the dogs the other night, we purchanced across a pile of lemons someone had picked from their tree and assembled on top of their postbox. Yoink. So we immediatly thought, hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm what goes well with lemon...... BEER

Bob the builder has been busy. What was once our bathroom is now a void, not even a ceiling!!

The zombie car returns

Yup, the ol hooner 4000 has been out of commission for the last few weeks, rusting away in its quasi-convalescent automotive demise, the only things keeping it together are the adhesive qualities of the decepticon sticker on the back and optimism!

I put a new battery in it last night and lo and behold it arose! So now its not quite living, not quite dead, a zombie car from the crypt!!

And here is my favourite part!

Sports day

It was athletics day today at school so about 400 of us went off to a brand new sports arena to run in circles and jump over high sticks etc.

Guess what my room was....

Yup, I was the announcer. The minor hurdles (pun intended) were that I know NOTHING about sports and nobody can understand my Irish accent at the best of times over here. It was great fun, I had a roving mike and was allowed to do prety much anything I wanted. At one point I arranged a 400 girl strong MC Hammer dance-off using my phones speakers pressed up to the mike and blasted through the stadiums PA system. Questionable quality of sound but a fantastic result!
