Australia day skyworks

We went to the Quarry Amphitheatre to see the Hip Mo'Toast big band. Twas a spectacular night, awesome band and great fun. Here is a picture of some skips, these appeared a few days before the skyworks, which is a 30 minute fireworks display celebrating australia day, it is over the river in town and nearly half a million people come to town to watch it from the shore, boats, skyscrapers and anywhere else they can get a view, so as a result it has become an all day event in order for you to get a spot. Picture the scene, 500,000 people littering, drinking, picnicing all day.......well, the following day you wouldnt even know there had been an event in the town. Everybody cleans up, these skips are emptied and gone and a group of volunteers come to pick up any loose bits of rubish the following morning. Great to see a city with such pride in itself.
